What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, first name (if provided), and the license plate numbers and states you add to your account. If you choose to enable text alerts, we also collect your mobile phone number along with a record of your consent (timestamp, IP address, and the exact disclosure text shown). When we detect a citation matching your plate, we store the citation details as published by the municipal data source, including the citation number, violation type, location, fine amount, and date issued.

How We Use Your Data

We use your email to send verification codes, ticket alerts, and payment reminders. If you provide a phone number, we use it solely to deliver text alerts about citations and approaching late-fee deadlines on your registered plates. We use your plate information to match against public citation databases. We use citation data to populate your dashboard and calculate penalty deadlines. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information — including your phone number — with third parties for marketing purposes.

Text Messages (SMS)

If you provide a phone number, TicketPay sends automated text alerts about parking citations on your registered plates and reminders before late fees apply. You can add or remove your phone number at any time from your Account page. Message frequency varies based on citation activity on your plates. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any TicketPay text to unsubscribe — opt-outs are honored immediately and recorded against your account. Reply HELP for assistance. We never share your phone number with third parties for marketing, and we use it only to deliver the alerts you signed up for. Phone numbers are processed by our SMS provider (Twilio) solely for message delivery; no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data Sources

Citation data is sourced from publicly available government open data portals, specifically the SFMTA parking citation dataset hosted on DataSF (data.sfgov.org). This data is published by the City and County of San Francisco under a public domain license. We access this data through the Socrata Open Data API. We are not affiliated with these data providers.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate TicketPay: Supabase for authentication and database hosting, SendGrid (Twilio) for transactional email delivery, Twilio for text message delivery (only if you have provided a phone number), and Vercel for application hosting. Each of these providers has their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function — for example, your email address is shared with SendGrid solely to deliver your notifications, and your phone number is shared with Twilio solely to deliver text alerts.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Citation data associated with your account is retained for your reference until you delete your account. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data (email, name, plates) and your ticket records. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.

Your Rights

You can view all data we hold about you in your Account page. You can update your notification preferences at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Account page. If you have questions about your data, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics that follow you across other websites. We do not serve ads in TicketPay.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication through Supabase, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Children

TicketPay is not intended for use by individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect about you, request deletion of your personal information, know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. TicketPay does not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@ticketpay.us.com. We will respond within 45 days. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
